Patricia Cotton
Holmes Chapel has been my home since 1984 and I am one of four generations of 'Cottons' who live in the village and surrounding area. I am married to Peter and have three grown up daughters - Faye, Claire and Alexandra.
I have been employed by a local NHS Trust for the past seventeen years, with a background in Learning Disabilities, Education & Training. Medical Workforce and now HR. I love my job and enjoy mixing with people from all corners of the globe and different backgrounds. Life in the NHS is at times stressful and hectic, but never dull.
The life of the village has always interested me and I have fought hard to raise awareness of the various schemes which would harm life in Holmes Chapel as we know it. Although change will assuredly come, I feel strongly this must be tempered with regard to the existing structure and the wishes of the residents. Although I am now in my second term as a member of Holmes Chapel Parish Council there is much to learn and I relish the future challenges.
As a founder member of Holmes Chapel Bookworms Group I count reading as one of my favourite ways of relaxing and meeting with my Bookworm friends is a highlight of the month. Meetings are never tedious, often humorous and a broad spectrum of literature and poetry has been discussed over the twenty two years the group has been in existence. Its continuing success is attributed to the respect the members have for each other's views.
