David Cowgill
I was born in 1948 and lived in Holmes Chapel until 1976 when I was married.
I have lived in Knutsford since 1976 with my wife, Julia. We have 2 grown up sons and 2 granddaughters.
I qualified as a Solicitor in 1972 and worked in private practice until retirement in April 2012.
I was appointed Clerk of the Council on 1 July 1970 - so have over 40 years active and consecutive service. My maternal grandfather and my mother lived in Holmes Chapel all their lives; my father lived in the village for nearly 70 years and was a member of the Parish Council for 43 years. The well being of the village is in my blood!
My interests include food and drink (I am a keen cook), foreign travel and sport. In particular I am a keen supporter of Manchester United. The latest trips have been to Florida including a short Bahaman cruise and to Greece. This year I will be visiting New York and then the Czech Republic because my younger son is to marry a Czech girl in August 2012.
