I moved to Holmes Chapel 14 years ago and like 90% of respondents to the Parish Plan questionnaire, I believe that it is a good place to live. I joined the Parish Council because I want to keep it that way.

I will support the redevelopment of brownfield sites within the Village which brings redundant land back into beneficial use without detriment to the Community. Such redevelopment has the potential to provide much needed starter homes and employment opportunities to reduce out-commuting and to enhance local amenities and prosperity. However, I will oppose the development of greenfield sites around the village which amount to environmental vandalism and have the potential to grow the Village into a town.

I am an elected member of Cheshire East Council for Dane Valley ward which includes not only Holmes Chapel but also Cranage, Goostrey and Twemlow. I am also a member of the Holmes Chapel Partnership which brings together residents, the business sector and public bodies. It is responsible for implementation of the Parish Plan and will deliver projects for the greater good of the Community.

My priorities for the Village are traffic and parking issues which sorely need to be addressed.
