Member of Holmes Chapel Parish Council
I’ve had a fulfilling working life, first as a process engineer, and now as a director of a small consultancy firm working in the public sector. In my spare time I volunteer for a local greyhound and lurcher rescue, enjoy walking with my husband and our two rescue dogs, and make use of Holmes Chapel library’s excellent reading groups service.
I stood for election to the Parish Council because I have the skills (commercial and technical) and motivation to make a positive contribution, and now my sons are grown up and moved away, I have more time available to give something back to the community.
The rapid growth in and around Holmes Chapel over the last few years makes it more important that we work together to make sure local infrastructure meets community needs for the future. We need to preserve access to the green spaces, culture, and recreational facilities which make Holmes Chapel such a lovely place to live and visit. Ensuring that we also meet the needs of the younger population is very important to me. I am also interested in how we can improve pedestrian and cycling routes around the village and in reducing the impact of heavy traffic, particularly HGVs.
