Holmes Chapel Youth Council

Holmes Chapel established its first Youth Council in February 2019 to help young people become involved with village life.  The first Youth Council of 11 members was an exciting step for Holmes Chapel.

In the subsequent two years,  the Youth Council achieved and arranged many actions including holding regular meetings, running a poster competition to raise awareness of environmental issues, conducting a survey on providing a Youth shelter in Holmes Chapel and also launched the Holmes Chapel Youth Cinema!  The cinema was well received with some sell out screenings attracting lots of children from the village. In all these activities the enthusiasm and maturity of the members shone through and impressed the Parish Council, who were proud to support our Youth Council.

Sadly, the pandemic halted the Youth Council for 18 months.  However, further to holding our second Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 19 October 2021, we are delighted that the Youth Council has continued since then.

The youth Council for 2023 has been re-elected as of January 2023 - there are now 15 members of the Youth Council, with more welcome to join throughout the year.

Their enthusiasm to get activities and projects off the ground bodes well for the Youth of Holmes Chapel in coming months!
