Holmes Chapel Youth Council
Holmes Chapel established its first Youth Council in February 2019 to help young people become involved with village life. The first Youth Council of 11 members was an exciting step for Holmes Chapel.
Since then the Youth Council has gone from strength to strength and has achieved some fantastic projects including a Youth Cinema, Happy to Chat benches, poster and art competitions and more recently the installation of outdoor gym equipment in the Middlewich Road Play Area. As a result of surveys carried out by the Youth Council, the Parish Council launched a Youth Club at the end of January 2026 in partnership with Everybody Health and Leisure. They even designed the logo for the youth club.
The Youth Council meets regularly (approx every 6 weeks) on Mondays after school at the Holmes Chapel Comprehensive. Those in years 6-13 are eligible to join the Youth Council. It is a fantastic way for our young people to contribute to improving the village as well as them gaining valuable experience working on projects and managing budgets.
Members of the Youth Council have a real opportunity to make a difference as they work with the Parish Council to get the voice of young people heard and to see projects fulfilled. It is a privilege to work with such an enthusiastic and driven group of young people.

The Youth Cinema, organised by the Youth Council, was showing films again at the Community Centre.
Sadly, this has been halted as the supplier of the screen and films is no longer operating. Films may be shown again if a new supplier can be found.
