Summer Celebration 2023

Love this Village? Love spending time in this great community? If yes, then the Summer Celebration is the weekend for you! Join us for a weekend of fun and community spirit!

Friday 7th July 6-11pm for one night only, the Parish Council is funding the closure of London Road through the centre of the village to enable residents to come together and enjoy a relaxing evening in our remarkable historic centre!

To entertain you during that evening will be the fantastic Dane Sound radio and the Heritage Jazz quartet! Local pubs, cafes and restaurants will be open and there will be some additional food and drink venues from U7 Street Food and the Vicarage for you to enjoy. The George & Dragon will be holding a BBQ from 6pm.

In addition St Luke's Church is planning an 'Open Church, Open Belfry'!

The Church will be open from 7-9pm and thanks to the Tower Captain and Bellringers, short tours of the Belfry, Clockworks Room and Ringing Room will be available between 7-9pm. Cost is £2 per adult or £3 per family, children must be accompanied. Any proceeds are for Tower Funds towards to upkeep of the bells and clockworks.

Don't miss out!

Would you like to play a role in this  event?

We are looking for local volunteers to be stewards. Please contact the Clerk to register your interest in volunteering:

We would like to take the opportunity of thanking U7 Street Food for providing a food voucher for each of our volunteers to enjoy!

Please note:

Bring your own chairs if you wish to set up in the village centre. Please note that tables are not provided.

Parking is limited, so walk if you can. Parking restrictions on the precinct  and Tesco car park will be waived from 6pm-midnight.
