Born in South Cheshire, I moved to Holmes Chapel in 1985 with wife Elaine and children Emma and Tom, both of whom attended Hermitage Primary and Holmes Chapel Comprehensive Schools. I grew up in a small South Cheshire village that grew rapidly in the late 1960’s, very much like Holmes Chapel. I therefore have some understanding of the effects of development on an area and the challenges and opportunities that it brings.

From school I entered into a career with the civil service covering a number of roles, particularly regional regeneration and business support schemes, including European Funding and research and technology awards.

I hope to be able to use my experience in the civil service and my involvement in a number of voluntary roles, including some twenty five years as a Best Kept Village and Civic Pride judge / committee member and Scout Leader for several years in Holmes Chapel, to the advantage of the village and its residents.

Living in and within reasonable distance of many scenic areas I enjoy walking, photography and exploring our rich natural and man-made landscape.
