Road Closures in Holmes Chapel - updated 20th January

There are a few planned closures in the near future as follows, the dates of some have been modified. Also included is a planned closure in Congleton which may affect those travelling for vacinations:


Station Road, Dane Valley Ward, Holmes Chapel, CW4 7 for its full extent.

The alternative route will be via the following streets: - Chester Road, Middlewich Road, A54 Holmes Chapel Roundabout, Holmes Chapel Road, Holmes Chapel Road Roundabout, Kinderton Street, Leadsmithy Street, Lewin Street, Booth Lane, London Road, Middlewich Roundabout, Old Mill Road, Inner Relief Road Roundabout, Congleton Road, Spark Lane, Sandbach Road

Pedestrian access to any premises situated within the temporary closure will be maintained at all times. Cyclists will be required to dismount in order for access to maintained. Vehicular access will be maintained for emergency vehicles and residents where possible.

The closure is necessary to enable Cheshire East Highways to carry out highway improvements.

It is anticipated that the works will take place on the following date(s): Wednesday 27th January 2021.


Marsh Lane, Dane Valley Ward, Holmes Chapel, CW4 8 for its full extent.

The alternative route will be via the following streets: - Station Road, Chester Road, Middlewich Road, A54 Holmes Chapel Roundabout, Holmes Chapel Road, Holmes Chapel Road Roundabout, Kinderton Street, Leadsmithy Street, Lewin Street, Booth Lane, London Road, Middlewich Roundabout, Old Mill Road, Inner Relief Road Roundabout, Congleton Road, Spark Lane, Sandbach Road

Holmes Chapel Road, Brereton Rural Ward, Congleton, from the junction with Marsh Lane to the junction with Moss Lane.

The alternative route will be via the following streets: - Marsh Lane, Station Road, Chester Road, Middlewich Road, A54 Holmes Chapel Roundabout, Holmes Chapel Road, Holmes Chapel Road Roundabout, Kinderton Street, Leadsmithy Street, Lewin Street, Booth Lane, London Road, Middlewich Roundabout, Old Mill Road, Inner Relief Road Roundabout, Congleton Road, Spark Lane, Sandbach Road

The alternative route will be via the following streets: - Rood Hill, Lower Heath, Macclesfield Road, Manchester Road, Congleton Road, Park Lane, Park Lane Roundabout, Park Street, Mill Lane, Old Mill Lane, Cross Street, London Road, Leek Road, Buxton Road, Brook Street, Willow Street, Moor Street, Moor Street Roundabout, Mountbatten Way

Pedestrian access to any premises situated within the temporary closure will be maintained at all times. Cyclists will be required to dismount in order for access to maintained. Vehicular access will be maintained for emergency vehicles and residents where possible.

The closure is necessary to enable Cheshire East Highways to carry out structural patching.

It is anticipated that the works will take place on the following date(s): Thursday 28th January 2021 to Tuesday 2nd February 2021 (excluding weekends).
