The village is represented by twelve parish councillors elected to serve for up to four years. There is provision for by-election or co-option to the Council should the number fall below twelve members within that period. The last election was held in 2019.
The Council meets on a regular basis in a six weeks cycle, usually on Thursday evenings in the Academy Suite of the Holmes Chapel Community Centre. There is a public forum time at the beginning of both Full council and committee meetings.
Three Committees form part of the cycle and cover Strategy and Finance, Amenities and Village Infrastructure. These are also held at the Holmes Chapel Community Centre. The Council office is at 1 Church Walk in the village centre.
The procedures at all these meetings are governed by Standing Orders and a Code of Conduct for members.
