"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning

We will remember them." Extract from the poem 'The Fallen' by Robert Laurence Binyon

It was an honour to attend the Remembrance Sunday Commemorations on 9th November.

Each year, it is a privilege to parade alongside so many of our uniformed groups as well as members of the Holmes Chapel Royal British legion, fire and police representatives and community organisations.  As always it was wonderful to see our residents lining the streets supporting the parade as it goes by. Each year the parade is led by the fantastic Acceler8Band who faithfully attend our Remembrance Commemorations every year.

The Chair, Cllr Diane Tams, was honoured to lay a wreath on behalf of the Parish Council, with representatives, Jessie, Emma and Brianna from our Youth Council laying a wreath also.

Thank you to the Holmes Chapel Royal British Legion and St Luke’s Church for all your hard work in making this event so special to all of us. To our uniformed groups, thank you for faithfully attending and parading with us. Finally, thank you to our residents for supporting this poignant and special event in the village.
