The Parish Council was deeply saddened to hear of the death of Her Majesty the Queen on 8th September. Our thoughts and condolences go to all the Royal Family during this difficult time.
We are also aware that many of our residents will be feeling saddened by this news, so during this time of national mourning, we wanted to provide residents with some information about how you can share your respects if you so wish (this will be updated as we receive more information):
Books of Condolence
There is a Book of Condolence in the Parish Office - 1 Church Walk. This is available to anyone who wishes to sign Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm; Saturday 9.30am to 1.30pm and Sunday 9.30am to 1pm.
Holmes Chapel Library has a Book of Condolence. Opening times are:
Monday 9.30 – 5
Tuesday 9.30 – 5
Wednesday 9.30 – 1
Thursday 9.30 – 7
Friday 9.30 – 5
Saturday 9.30 – 1
There is also a Book of Condolence available in St Luke's Church.

Prayer & Reflection
There is a Prayer Service at 6pm on Friday 9th September at St Luke's Church. All are welcome
Revd Yvonne will be opening Holmes Chapel Methodist Church on Saturday 10th September 6pm to 7pm for a quiet time of prayer and reflection. Steve Best will be playing some quiet music, and there will be the reading of scripture and short led prayers interspersed through the hour. All are welcome.
St Luke's Church is open 7 days a week from 9.30am until 6pm for prayer and reflection
Proclamation
3pm 11th September - the Cheshire East Mayor will read out the Proclamation at Westfields, Sandbach. This will be followed by a short service of Commemoration for Her Majesty.
All are welcome.
Formal Service
6.30pm 11th September - the Bishop of Chester is leading a service at St Mary's, Nantwich Parish Church.

Flowers
If residents wish to leave flowers, they can be left at the foot of St Luke's Church Tower, on the North side. Please take off any cellophane.
Flags
Residents will notice that flags are being flown at half mast. Please be aware that on Saturday 10th September the flag on St Luke's Church will be raised at 11am and then lowered to half mast at 1pm on Sunday 11th September. This is to honour the Accession of the new King.
Bell Tolling
The Bells at St Luke's Church will toll half muffled on 9th September between 12 - 1pm
Bells will ring unmuffled for the Proclamation of the new King on Saturday 10th September.
On Sunday 11th September the Bells will toll fully muffled, with the tenor tolling half muffled.
On the day of Her Majesty's Funeral - the Bells will toll fully muffled for an hour before the funeral.
Parish Council Meetings
The Village Infrastructure Committee meeting scheduled for 15th September has been postponed until 29th September.
The Amenities Committee meeting scheduled for 22nd September has been postponed until 6th October.
