Outdoor Gym Equipment

Residents may recall that, some time ago, we invited feedback on whether outdoor gym equipment should be installed at either the Middlewich Road Play Area or the Elm Drive Play Area. The consultation showed strong support for the project, with 58% of respondents indicating they would like equipment at both sites, and a further 25% expressing a preference for installation at Middlewich Road.
Due to budget restraints, the Parish Council decided to focus the project on the Middlewich Road Play Area.
The proposal for outdoor gym equipment came from our Youth Council who carried out a survey amongst their peers to establish what activities young people wish to see available in the village. This project also coincides with a manifesto project of the Parish Council which is to support residents in improving their health and fitness.
It has been a long time from concept to implementation, but we are delighted that on Tuesday 27th January the outdoor gym equipment will be delivered to Cheshire East for their team to install in the play area. The equipment will be sited on the grassy area adjacent to the play equipment. We are installing an outdoor fitness rig, double walker and an arm and pedal bicycle.
Please note that preparatory works will begin on Monday 26 January, during which time the grassy area of the park will be temporarily cordoned off.
We hope this new outdoor gym equipment will be well used and enjoyed by residents of all ages, and that it proves to be a valuable and positive addition to the village.
Please be aware that this is not linked to the recent play area consultation, which is a separate project.
