The weather may have been wet and cold, but there was that didn't stop Holmes Chapel residents bringing their own bit of sunshine to the Summer Celebration weekend!

Friday Night!

The Summer Celebration kicked off as usual with London Road through the centre of the village being closed on the Friday night at 6pm. We were delighted to welcome two new acts this year - Saxophonist Mike Irving and Singer/Songwriter Harris Rafferty. They performed and entertained us with some fantastic music and kept us all smiling even when the heavens opened.

Dane Sound bought their enthusiasm, positivity and great music to the other end of London Road, and it was great to watch young and old dancing together in the street! Thank you to all at Dane Sound for bringing such joy to the occasion!

What also made this year so special was that two fire officers Scott and Victoria had taken on the great challenge of cycling non-stop from 10am until 10pm to raise vital funds for the FireFighters Charity. Huge congratulations to Scott and Victoria - it was a real joy to see you smash this challenge! You can sponsor them online if you wish to:

Our local businesses did a brilliant job serving great food and drink. It was brilliant to see so many of our residents come down to support this event despite the weather! Thank you for attending, for smiling and dancing in the rain and generally creating a lovely sense of community!

Everybody Fun Day

Thankfully the rain had passed so that Everybody Health & Leisure could welcome residents to their fantastic family fun day down at the Community Centre. There was face painting, balloon artist, nerf gun shooting, inflatable football, rowing challenges, archery, a bouncy castle, stalls, great food and so much more. More scarily this year, were that some incredible reptiles decided to attend! Including a huge python, Patricia, who enthralled attendees as they saw her slithering across the grass! Huge thank you to all the Everybody Staff for organising this free family fun event for us, we really appreciate all the hard work and effort that went into organising it!

Holmes Chapel Chorus Concert

This marked the 40th Anniversary of the Holmes Chapel Chorus and was a very special evening for all. The Choir sounded amazing and were joined by special guests, the Cheshire Brass to honour this special night. With over 100 attendees listening to some beautiful music at the leisure centre, it was definitely a night to remember! An interval with a difference, attendees were able to bring a picnic to enjoy which once again added to a great community atmosphere.

Village Fair

Despite thunder storms first thing, the sun came out for a fantastic Village Fair. Held at the Victoria Club, with stalls organised by the Partnership, it was great to see the wide ranging stalls and activities on offer, including community group stalls, crafts, great food, classic cars, fun fair and a dog show! Lots of people came down to support the fair and it was a lovely atmosphere. Thank you to all those who worked so hard to organise this great community event!
