Let's take you back to 1972, when Holmes Chapel was a small thriving village and the subject of a BBC programme called "You and Your Village Holmes Chapel 1972". It contains fabulous interviews with many local family businesses of that time W Mandevilles, MG Williams & Sons the Grocers, Massey Feeds, Fads Wallpaper Company and Mr & Mrs Hancock, local farmers age 94 & 95!
Thanks to Peter Hancock who found the recording and Mike Blomeley U3A History Group who gained permission to play the recording on Dane Sound Community Radio. We bring you 50 years of history about Holmes Chapel, played in its entirety and a chance to find out more about these fabulous families and businesses in more recent years
