Holmes Chapel Parish Council is delighted to announce that it has once again been awarded Quality Gold status under the Local Council Award Scheme (LCAS). This marks the third time the Council has achieved this distinction—the highest level available.
The LCAS is a peer-assessed programme that promotes excellence across parish and town councils, recognising outstanding performance in governance, community engagement, and service delivery. Councils can be accredited at three levels: Bronze, Silver, and Gold.
Achieving Quality Gold status demonstrates that Holmes Chapel Parish Council operates at the forefront of local government, delivering services effectively while maintaining exceptional standards. The rigorous application process required the Council to evidence excellence across a wide range of areas, including financial management, strategic planning, public consultation, council governance, and the promotion of civility and respect.
Chair of the Council, Cllr Diane Tams, commented: “We are delighted to have achieved Quality Gold for a third time. This recognition reflects the dedication and hard work of our Councillors and Officers, who are committed to serving our village and residents to the best of our ability"
Further information about the award scheme is available from the National Association of Local Councils (NALC):
