Help Wanted with Village Planning

Are you concerned about the long-term development of Holmes Chapel – house building, roads and traffic, employment, community services, the natural environment?

Are you interested in discussing these topics and contributing to plans for the future of your village?

If so, would you like to join the Strategic Planning Task Group (SPTG)?

The SPTG is a working party set up by the Parish Council. Its aim is to review the parish’s Neighbourhood Plan, which was approved in 2017. Since then, there have been many new developments and other changes around the village. We need to update the Plan to reflect these changes and to make sure that the Plan meets the future needs and aspirations of residents.

The SPTG has always had two members who are not parish councillors, to provide additional viewpoints and to help with the work of the group. One of these members has recently resigned and the other has become a councillor. So, we’re now seeking two new residents, who are not councillors, to join the group.

The SPTG meets on the first Tuesday afternoon of each month for a couple of hours. There are also papers to read before each meeting.

You can view the Neighbourhood Plan here: https://www.holmeschapelparishcouncil.gov.uk/strategicplanning

You can see more information about the SPTG here: https://www.holmeschapelparishcouncil.gov.uk/task-groups

You don’t need any previous knowledge or experience of planning - your willingness to help is enough.

If you’re Interested in joining the SPTG, please get in touch with the Parish Clerk (Tel. 01477 533934 or email clerk@holmeschapelparishcouncil.gov.uk) who will arrange for you to meet the SPTG Chairman for a detailed discussion about the work of this group.
